Software and hardware

My research involves generating a lot of software (and sometimes hardware) products. I am particularly committed to implementing these in a way that is highly reproducible and usable by others. Some examples are listed below. For more information see my GitHub.

Research software

  • PyPhonPlan: Simulating phonetic planning with dynamic neural fields and task dynamics.
  • tadaR: Run TADA simulations from R (interfaces with the Matlab toolkit), as well as convenience functions for processing simulated data.
  • tardis: Processing AG501 electromagnetic articulography data and convert to EMU format.

Research hardware

  • Nosey: 3D-printable device for nasometry (bring your own microphones).
  • ultrafit-ema: a 3D-printable triangle for EMA tracking of ultrasound probe movement.

Visualization software and biofeedback

  • AURORA: Simple real-time acoustic and articulatory biofeedback on vowel production.
  • NoisyNoses: Real-time visualization of nasalance (used for public engagement).
